Unfortunately my expectation of this book were very different that what the book provided. Don't get me wrong the book was well written and had plenty of information, but I think it would be very useful to fellow teacher who want to build relationships with their students and help them grow and develop self-esteem. Especially in socio-economic groups. I was looking for a book with little stories, both funny and sad, of children take on the sentence.... I wish my teacher knew..........This book was provided to me in return for an unbaised and honest review

Just what my sister who is a teacher's assistant needed!

I bought this book as my summer read and finished it in two days. It’s so heartfelt and has great ideas to implement. I’m excited for next school year.

Schwartz and her contributing teachers give practical ways to help students through troubled moments. There are sections covering grief, abuse, food insecurity, switching schools, and more. I loved this book.

Heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. A good read for anyone in education or just cares about kiddos.

This book starts out with understanding the activity of "I wish my teacher knew..." it then develops into deeper aspects of what our students of all ages face, and ideas of how we could help our community of students be resilient. It is one of the best professional books I've read in a long time. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and ideas! I cant wait to share this title with more teachers!

I like that it shows how students feel. There is always a reason students act a certain way, and it’s a great source for teachers to help bond w their students, thereby increasing success in all areas.
